Trying to sleep...with Dom

I’ve decided that my blog posts might be a little ‘dry’ so I thought I’d liven them up a bit since we are about 1/2 way through our vacation.
This post is true.  I have not changed any of the names of the participants.

Many of you know that I am not a good sleeper.  I can hear an ant crawling.  Last night Dom had a few glasses of wine and fell immediately to sleep while I did emails and prepped for the next day’s excursion, getting the tickets ready and reading up on our next port.

I went to bed about 11:30.  About 2am Dom has to pee.  Ok, he’s allowed, especially at our age.  Since he drank so much wine, he’s now dehydrated.  Have you ever seen Dom drink water from a bottle?  Or heard him?  He squeezes the bottle and you hear that crinkle noise that makes me want to scream.  I say the rosary and hope I can fall back to sleep.  About an hour and a half later he has to pee again because he drank all that water.  Here we go again.  And he’s thirsty...again.  I say the rosary and hope I can fall back to sleep.  About an hour later his iPhone pings, followed by his Ipad.  Can his I watch be far behind.  What the hell?  Did we not have this discussion; that because LA is 9 hours behind us, that we were bound to get texts so we must silence our electronic devices before bed????  Now he can’t find his phone to silence it.  He puts the light on.  REALLY????  He has the nerve to ask me if I set the alarm for a wake up.  The one job I gave him to do.  So he has to check that.  Yes, he did.  I say the rosary and hope I can fall back to sleep.... for about the 20 minutes I have left of the night.

He wonders why I am tired when I have to get up!

  1. I swear I was reading the story of my life! But add a CAP machine noise that has an air leak due to his sleeping on side in that element!!!! Sounds like a blown gasket!

  2. Just catching up on blog. This is too funny
At least no dog in room asking for a walk. Recommend sleep sounds and a sleep mask
